JT Club/Constitution

The constitution.

What the club is, who it's for, and the handful of rules every member agrees to when they take a number. Short enough to actually read.

Clause 01

What JT Club is

JT Club is an independent, member-run owners community for Jetour T1 and T2 vehicles in South Africa. It exists to help owners get real answers, meet each other, and use their vehicles properly — on the road and off it.

"Independent" is not a slogan here. JT Club is not owned or operated by Jetour, its distributor, or any dealership. We may accept sponsorship for specific events, but no sponsor — including Jetour's local distributor — gets to influence what's said on the forum or which suppliers are listed.

Clause 02

Membership

Membership is free, permanently, to Jetour T1 & T2 owners, future owners and enthusiasts in South Africa. It is not a subscription, it will not become one, and no future version of this club will charge for belonging.

Every member is issued a permanent number, in the order they join. Numbers are never sold, never transferred, and never reused — if you leave the club, your number retires with you.

You do not need to own a T1 or T2 to be a full member. Owners, future owners and enthusiasts all get a number, posting rights and a place on event lists. Joining is a hello, not a vetting: we never ask for your VIN, your licence or your vehicle papers.

Clause 03

Chapters and chapter leads

Chapters are regional groups of members, each coordinated by a volunteer chapter lead. A chapter lead welcomes new members, organises runs, and moderates their chapter's corner of the forum. It's an unpaid role held by a member who's earned the trust of their region.

A chapter appears on this site only once it has a real lead and real activity — not as a placeholder for a region we hope to reach eventually.

Clause 04

Events

Chapter runs are graded 1 to 5 by difficulty, and the grade is honest — if your trim or experience isn't suited to a run, we'll say so before you commit, not after you're stuck on a pass. Turning up prepared, as briefed, is part of the deal; the club is not liable for outcomes of a member's own equipment failure or poor preparation, and every participant takes part at their own risk.

Basic social runs are, and will stay, free. Any future paid or premium trip is always optional and always alongside a free alternative — never a replacement for it.

Clause 05

The forum

The forum exists so owners can answer owners. Be honest, be specific, and don't sell anything uninvited — that's what the supplier directory is for. Persistent rudeness, dishonesty about your vehicle or experience, or using the forum to advertise will get a post removed and, if it continues, a membership suspended. A chapter lead makes that call, and a member can appeal to the founders.

Clause 06

Suppliers

The supplier directory is curated by chapter leads, not sold. A supplier carries a verified mark only once a chapter lead has actually visited them; until then a listing is a listing, nothing more.

No supplier can pay for a better ranking, a featured slot, or a listing they haven't earned.

This is a standing policy, not a launch promise that quietly changes later.

Clause 07

Your information

What we collect, why, and your rights over it are covered in full in the privacy notice. In short: it's used to issue your number and run the club, never sold, and never handed to suppliers.

Clause 08

Changing this constitution

JT Club is young, and this document will be revised as the club grows — but never in a direction that charges for membership, sells member data, or lets a sponsor buy editorial control. Material changes will be posted on the forum before they take effect, dated, with the previous version kept available.
