Want to use Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps on the big screen? Connect your phone with Apple CarPlay (iPhone) or Android Auto (Android). Your phone's maps then show on the centre screen. A steady connection matters most, which is what this guide is about.
Drops and audio lag are among the most common complaints. Work through these from easiest to most involved.
- Heat: if you use wireless projection and the wireless charger together, the phone can overheat and drop. Switch the charger off or use a cable.
- Use a good USB cable in the right port. A cable is steadier than wireless.
- Forget the car on the phone and the phone in the car, then pair again. Some owners stop auto-connect and use Bluetooth just for audio.
- Still dropping? Ask your dealer whether the latest infotainment update is on your car and what it fixes.
Tip. Update your phone's software too. Note when the problem started: after a phone update or a car update?
If unsure, stop safely and contact your dealer.
