Drive modes explained

What each Jetour T2 drive mode does, on tar and off it: Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock and X Smart Mode. Which trims have which. Independent guide.

Where the control is: Rotary drive-mode dial on the centre console beside the gear selector.

Your car lets you change how the engine, gearbox and four-wheel drive behave to suit the road. The Xplora and Odyssey have Normal, Sport, Eco, Snow, Mud, Sand, Rock and X Smart Mode. The Aspire has Normal, Sport and Eco.

Where to change mode

Use the rotary drive-mode dial on the centre console beside the gear selector. Check your owner's manual for how the chosen mode shows on the dash.

On the road

  1. Eco: for relaxed, economical driving. The car responds more gently. Good for long, flat roads.
  2. Normal: the everyday setting. Start here if you are unsure.
  3. Sport: sharper response and faster gear changes. Uses more fuel. Good for overtaking and hills; not for wet or slippery roads.

Off the tar

The off-road modes adjust how power reaches the wheels and how much the traction systems step in.

  1. Snow: for slippery surfaces. Gentler power so the wheels do not spin. Also useful on wet or icy tar.
  2. Mud: allows a little wheel slip so the tyres can clear mud and keep moving.
  3. Sand: keeps the wheels turning in soft ground so you do not dig in. Keep a steady throttle and do not stop.
  4. Rock: for slow, careful driving over uneven ground. Take it slowly and choose your line.

Tip. Choose the mode before you reach the rough ground, not once you are stuck. Switch back to Normal when you are on the tar again.

Tip. Off-road modes are not magic. Slow down, look ahead, and know your car's ground clearance (220 mm on the Xplora and Odyssey). If unsure, stop safely and contact your dealer.
